Submission Instructions
Post-Submission Process
This section explains what happens after you have submitted your manuscript. It covers the stages of peer review, tracking the status of your submission, and how to respond to reviewer comments.
Submission Timeline
- Initial review: 1-3 days (check for completeness and suitability)
- Peer review: 2-4 weeks (depending on reviewer availability)
- Editor decision: Within 1 week after reviews are complete
- Revision period: Typically 2-4 weeks for minor revisions, 4-8 weeks for major revisions
- Final acceptance to publication: 1-2 weeks
Peer Review Process
Our journals use a double-blind peer review process:
- Editorial assessment for suitability and scope
- Assignment to handling editor
- Invitation to reviewers (typically 2-3 experts)
- Review period with reviewer comments
- Editor decision based on reviewer recommendations
- Communication of decision to author
Possible Decisions
- Accept: Manuscript accepted without changes (rare)
- Minor revisions: Accept after addressing specific minor concerns
- Major revisions: Consider after substantial revisions and possible re-review
- Reject and resubmit: Substantial changes needed, will be treated as new submission
- Reject: Not suitable for publication in the journal
Responding to Reviews
When submitting a revised manuscript, include:
- A point-by-point response to all reviewer comments
- A highlighted version of the manuscript showing changes
- A clean version of the revised manuscript
- An updated cover letter addressing the revisions
