Editorial and Publishing Policies
Archiving Policy
This section explains our long-term digital preservation and archiving strategy, ensuring that all published articles remain accessible for future generations of researchers and scholars.
Digital Preservation
We are committed to long-term preservation of all published content through:
- CLOCKSS: Participating in the CLOCKSS archival system
- Portico: Digital preservation service for e-journals
- LOCKSS: Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe program
- Institutional repositories: Partnerships with major academic libraries
Content Archiving
Our archiving strategy includes:
- Regular backups of all content in multiple geographic locations
- Preservation of content in multiple formats (PDF, XML, HTML)
- Migration to new formats as technology evolves
- Regular integrity checks to ensure content remains unchanged
Post-Cancellation Access
In the event that ScholarCentrix ceases operations:
- All content will remain accessible through CLOCKSS and Portico
- Perpetual access guaranteed for all previously published content
- Content will be transferred to designated preservation archives
Metadata Preservation
We ensure long-term discoverability through:
- Registration of all articles with CrossRef for permanent DOI links
- Deposit of metadata in major indexing services
- Participation in OpenAIRE for European research
- Regular export of metadata to library catalogs worldwide
Author Self-Archiving
Authors are encouraged to:
- Deposit final published version in institutional repositories
- Share articles on academic social networks (ResearchGate, Academia.edu)
- Use articles in teaching materials and course packs
- Include articles in scholarly communication platforms
No embargo period applies to self-archiving of published versions.
